Brrrr-3 Below Zero!

Get it? hahaha This is definitely a 'northern' joke :)

Trying more abstract stuff. Lots of texture on this one!

Sometimes I have way more ideas in my head than I have time for!

My mind goes 100 mph with ideas of what I want to try next and then when I finally get the time to sit down and create.....I hear crickets! ugh!

Hi Darla, love both the drawing and your textured art. Especially your girl hair and the swirls.
Thank you for you message. Your art is so beautiful and special, some how should pick up soon. I think looking at Etsy the top sellers have something on everyday, so maybe this is the clue so you get more noticed and not lost in the thousands of art for sale. I think your creating such a lot of beautiful art daily.

Gong to bed now is 1.36am, I am a terrible stop up.
Just wnated to let you know, your a really special lady and a wonderful artist!

I LOVE this piece, Darla....the texture really adds to it. Nice drawing too ~ :)

I get tons of ideas at night when I'm in bed and when I'm out and about but, when it comes to sitting down and trying to remember them at a later time.....nada! the good thing is that other ideas will still come. I think I'm going to start carrying a small sketchbook with me at all times.

Love the landscape...the colours are so rich.
I know what you mean about the crickets when you get into the studio.
I think I should set up an easel in the shower or next to the kitchen sink or washing machine. I swear' running water must be my muse. ;^)

I love the abstract. I want to try doing stuff like that again, but it always turned out muddy for me.

hahahah..... good one! We, north of the 49th, get it!

We just had some dips in our weather and it WAS 3 below... and then we had snow on the newly bloomed flowers...in June. .... sigh........

Those colors on your "more abstract" stuff are absolutely gorgeous. I've been reading through your posts, and very much enjoy them. Had to laugh about the graffiti--both the trials of having to look at it day after day, and then thinking about the kids who did it--who probably don't feel like they have too many other outlets in their lives.

We have a group in our town who hires "at risk" kids and trains them for jobs in the arts. It's an amazing program.
