The birth of an angel!

VernaAnn Gabriel is here! And her heart is still beating!! She's such a strong little angel!

Before I could even finish this post, I received word that VernaAnn has gone home to Jesus. Her family got to hold her and love her and cherish her for 44 minutes.
She will forever be with them!

Thank you again for all your prayers.
VernaAnn touched so many in her short time, we can only hope to achieve as much in a lifetime
♥♥♥

I wanted to give away a painting of mine to celebrate VernaAnn's birthday and the love that surrounds her.
I put you all in a drawing. I generated the winner at Random.org and the winner of my original watercolor is

ANNETTE Q

This piece is titled : NOTHING TO FEAR

You are ALL winners! Every single one of you, for taking the time to read VernaAnn's story and to keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

As long as we believe in angels and the love they bring...........we have NOTHING TO FEAR.

Darla, how beautiful is your family and how much love that surrounded this little precious gift. For such a short time. Maybe Jesus is holding her right this moment, I think He would be and she will feel all his love.
Bless you all so much!

Thank you Julie! VernaAnn is the precious child of Ross & Allison, good friends of my son and daughter in law. They are not family, but I feel as if they are during all this.
THanks for your prayers and sweet comments!

Aww... heartbreaking. It is so hard to lose a baby, my sister was with us for 4 days. But as you said, they are forever with us! I will be praying for her family during this time.

i am so touched by this story. and i am honored to have known (even only in your writing) this mother who went thru all the pains and joy of childbirth to bring an angel to this world knowing in her heart that the angel would never stay ... but she still did it. i can see how tired she looks but just look at that smile on her face. the feelings that must have gone through this lady from the time of knowing to the time little angel VernaAnn said goodbye. i wouldn't have had the courage to do that.

congratulations to annette Q :) and thank you once again for sharing this story. some stories you hear in the course of your life, you can never forget ... this is one of them...

"An Angel in the book of life wrote down your baby's birth,
and whispered as she closed the book,
"Too beautiful for Earth."

Can one's heart be saddened and joyful at the same time? Yes, mine is ...saddened for the family yet joyful they got to meet her and that you shared this family's strength and love with us..

My God!!.... this picture of the mother and her small angel is so strong... such a resigned mother.. but at the same time her glance has the force of the love of who trusts.
God received one more angel in his kingdom.... and we received ourselves a lesson to learn.
Thank you VeranaAnn.. thank you Darla.

Darla, thank you for coming over to watch the kids so I could go give this Angel a kiss goodbye. She was so soft and all those who loved her were still keeping her warm. I got to be there as they put her footprints and handprints in the baby book. I tried to be so strong but Allison had to end up holding me as I sobbed. After leaving VernaAnn's room I went to watch the other babies in the nursery and wept. Then went to my car and just fell to pieces for the next 20 minutes. I finally talked myself into starting the car and driving myself home. It will be so difficult to see all of VernaAnn's cousins and grandparents at the funeral this Friday. But I know that VernaAnn is very loved.

Darla, my thoughts and prayers to VernaAnns' parents and to you and your family. My first son was stillborn; he lives in my heart forever. There are no words to encompass what they are feeling, but having the love and understanding of family and friends is a tremendous help and blessing.
VernaAnn is an angel watching from above the ripples of love and caring that are spreading from her brief moment on this earth.
Blessings and love to you all,
Kelly

I had to read back a few posts to catch up on this story. My eyes are now filled with tears, I have a huge lump in my throat, and I am filled with sadness, yet I'm also happy that this precious family got to spend time with their own little angel, VernaAnn, before she passed. xo

Oh Darla, I'm so sorry to hear that. Sometimes angels could only stay for a short while. I'm glad that her family got that chance to spend time with the beauty they created. Now she is watching them forever.
