My weekend

I found the cutest hairstyle when I went to get my haircut. I showed it to the girl and yeah, I KNOW I'm not as young as the model and it would be hard to get the look exactly, but what I got was so NOT even close it makes me cry. Seriously. She got busy telling this story and she just kept cutting. and cutting. and cutting.

When I stood up and looked at the floor she said, it probably looks like I cut a lot off but I just thinned out the bulk around the middle. Yeah. Alrighty then.

She hacked my hair off. I want to hide in my house for 2 months so I can get at least an inch back. waaaaaaaaa Today I'm actually wearing a bandana scarf......that's how bad it is. I look just like my brother. No kidding!

Anyway..........trying not to dwell on it I painted a little today.
Here is my attempt at grapes in watercolor. It's hard to layer and get the look I want in this medium but that's what this was......a practice :)

Then I went on to some less stressful ACEOs.

This is a little doxie......after my Dad's boy, Oscar.

OH you poor darling - so sorry to hear about your haircut story nightmare - I had that happen to me a few years ago and I have a panic attack now every time I walk into the hairdressers. Dont worry - they say the difference between a good hair cut and a bad haircut is 2 weeks - a few weeks and you will feel better - hugz Val xo

Oh no... so sorry to hear about your hair cut! Did she even say she was sorry?? At least you had some time to paint and not think about it. I love your trees so much!! Your 'attempt' as you call it looks great!!

Darla?
I can not believe you are doing water color now? Is it something new for you or you just playing?
They are beautiful!
I'm sorry about your hair, and forgive me, but I was laughing at you the "way" you wrote what you wrote.."I look like my brother'.. lol.. I am a a cosmetoligist and can relate to this scenario, I wish you would have said.."STOP TALKING!".. REMEMBER.. FOREVER: Hair dressers LOVE to CUT! I am not in a salon anymore but have had a great following.. and love to cut but NOT SHORT HAIR!
Communication is EVERYTHING.. oh and a little "duck tape" !
Hugs,

Oh dear Darla, sorry to hear about 'the cut' it's horrible when that happens. I remember my cousin went in for a hair cut once and came out with a mullet (do you know what one of those is?). Anyway it wasn't good. I'm sure yours isn't as bad as you feel and I agree with Val, in a few weeks you'll feel alot better!!! Hang in there.

I LOVE your trees they are gorgeous, I have such trouble when it comes to landscapes and it's something I really want to work on, those grapes are great!

OOh so sorry about your hair sweetie, i've had bad experiences with hairdressers before too and it makes you feel awful, but you will learn to like it and it will grow (I know this is not helping right now but it's what people always say, so just call me a sheep for following the crowd lol)

I love the tree paintings you've been doing lately!

Thank you guys so much! It's great to get encouragement and support from women who know what a bad, BAD haircut can do to our whole self esteem thing.
Dale tried to help and said, 'My haircuts don't always turn out good either'. It didn't quite help, but he tried. I also believe inside he was giggling?
Women just 'get it', ya know?
Bless your hearts!
And thanks for the comments on the painting too!♥

Darla... I was sad for you to feel unhappy with your hair... I to say that will grow... that will return to the normal seems cliché.. why really increases.. but I understand you.
I take a very strong medication more than 1 year for a problem serious stomach that I already suffer the.. and my hair because of the medicine falls to the hills.... for that alive with him prisoner.
Do like me.. it abuses tiaras.. ribbons... flowers.. colored pendants.
And be not very hard get... why have the certainty that you this more beautiful woman than it imagines.. for your beauty it comes from your light.

Oh, Darla, I'm so sorry you are so disappointed about your hair, but I'm sure is not as bad as you think right now. But I know from my experience just how upsetting these things can be! Yes, I agree, you should have let her know how upset you are!
Your grapes are simply FABULOUS, I mean it!!! What a perfect light on them and transparency... FANTASTIC job! REALLY! And the ACEO's are sooo lovely, love them!
Lots of love, Sanda xx

Oh, Darla, I think we can all relate with the bad hair cut. Although I am sure it looks way worse to you than it really does. You are so pretty - I cannot imagine you looking like your brother! And the nice thing about hair ... it grows back!!

Your ACEO's are amazing! You are so talented - love your art!!

Thank you Darla, for the Blog Award..
You are too sweet.. I am glad I came to visit your blog..I see some wonderful art I had not seen yet..Love the barn scenes, the pumpkin, pear, fall skys..all of them are great..and about the hair incident..Boy have I been there. This happened to me a few years ago, and I wanted to cringe..and it was in the Fall too, I had to go thru winter with a darn Pixie haircut! I showed the hairdresser a pic of Lisa Renna...with her cute flippy wispy cute hair cut..and you'd think she'd get the general idea...I thought a picture would be helpful..WRONG! When they talk while they cut, you should pay close attention to every cut. I don't go to the beauty shop unless I know for sure they don't massacre people. I do a better job of cutting my own hair than most I've been to. Just wear a taboggin or a cap until it grows out..the bandana thing is kind of cute too..just put stiffy stuff in it and wear it stickin out like the Meg Ryan style..like a fuzzy headed chicken..that's cute. One last comment.. At least it will GROW!
Sorry for your agony! hugs

Darla the ACEOs are fantastic. You know I will be buying more some day soon (hopefully always at my special price). har har

Anyway, yes 1/3 and it seems like that hairdresser was in with the fallen.

It will grow back and that at least is on the upside.

Love Renee xoxo

2 months and counting....I had the same experiance with my hair...it is almost to the length that I need to I can ask for a TRIM. It is sooo hard to find someone that will cut just a bit. Your painting is nice.

Hi Darla,
They say there is only one week for a bad hair cut to look good again. lol
I'm sure you still look beautiful.

Love the latest water colour grapes and your ATC's are looking good.

Oh no! You poor thing. I know just how you are feeling. I get so scared going into a hair dressers now praying that they won't ruin my hair because of the bad experiences. I feel you pain :(

On a good note though, your paintings are lovely. I really like the grapes.

First, I bet it looks cute and B - I have done the same thing! You think "Hey- I showed you a photo...did you not see it? This looks like the anti-haircut!"

One thing I learned...it WILL grow back- then it's the fear of finding someone who will LISTEN :-)

I can relate. Two years ago I went from having hair that reached to the middle of my back to hair that barely reached the nape of my neck....due to a "miscommunication"! I promptly found a new hairdresser to shape up the cut, and actually kept it short until about four months ago. :)

I'm sure your hair will grow fast. Maybe you can try to appreciate the fun choppiness of the "in between" stages!

I've had some nightmare experiences with hairdressers too which is why I haven't gone near a hairdresser for something like ten years now. I feel your pain, hon. On a more positive note, time will pass and it will grow back. xo

As for your paintings...LOVELY! Those grapes are divine and the little doxie is adorable! I love how you rendered the grass in the landscape...nicely textured. :)
