Look what I found.......

Title: Cupidon, c.1875
Artist: William Adolphe Bouguereau

Title: Les Anges, Le Mystere Seraphique
Artist: Joadoor

Wouldn't this be a copyright issue or because the original was 1875, has enough time passed? Just curious what your opinion is on this.

I found these on page 2 when I did a search on 'angels' at allposters.com

I read on someone's Etsy store, that if the date is older than 1927, then it's copyright free, or royalty free, whatever they call it..

That is really a neat print...Love that look.

Thanks Susan! I figured it must be something like that. I appreciate your input sweetie!

Yes, this image is in the public domain. Here is a link that mentions the reason and the length of copyrights: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Cupidon.jpg
It's a beautiful image, isn't it? :) Silke

The angel images you have found are so soothing and beautiful. I am so glad that you shared them with all. They are too wonderful to be hidden away.

Over 70 years? I think anyway. Or is it after 70 years the artist died? Anyway I think it isn't copyright as it is totally enough to be its own original. SO should be perfectly fine.

You have been tagged so many bloggers can see you and your beautiful art!

luv and hugs!

Darla you are so funny.

Wednesday's Women are always made up. Always. The only ones I will do about me are the 25th, 50th, 75th, etc.

As far as this angel goes I did a fantasty friday and it had this exact angel but transfored probably by photoshop of an alien type person in the same pose.

I know nothing about copyright stuff.
