Seriously, this kind of freaked me out! LOOK!

I had decided to do a colorful background on one of my new 4 x 12 canvases from Michaels, so I started early this morning. I came home at noon and was going to play with it a bit more, but this image of a witch with this unbelievable face was already on it! Yikes!
I just had to go with it, even though my plan was to put a sweet little girl on it...my plans changed!

This is the final product.

I think I'll name her 'I'm right here'

Do you hear spooky music? I do! :)
Have a great night!

That's how I create my artwork. I always seem to see images in the strangest of items. Tile floors,Popcorn ceilings etc.. I think she's a sweet looking lil witch. Love the colors too. Hopefully ya'll have more happy images appear in ya work.
Hugs, Poe

are you saying you didn't actually put any features on your canvas, i'm guessing that's what you're suggesting...how frightfully spooky :)

She looks amazing, she obviously needed to be painted, I would of loved to had been there to see your reaction when you first saw her sat there waiting for you ;)

Okay ... yeah...THAT IS SPOOKY!!!! But you went with it, as any true artist would. I know you must get sick of me saying this .. but your art is just fabulous Darla.

Wow that's awesome! Sometimes you just have to go where the painting tells you to go.

I'm really in awe of your trees by the way, I love them!

Also, can I ask, what are the white outlines you use to sketch? Are they erasable like pencil? I can imagine working with a white sketch is more useful than pencil when you're working on a darker background like that.

I'm glad you all see the spookiness of this as well. haha
Her eyes, nose, full lips and face shape were there, I just outlined the face shape in the first pic prior to painting her. I was so scared I'd lose the features when I went to paint her as I've done many times in the past so wanted to take a picture first.
In my purse is the sketch I planned to put on the canvas that I had drawn yesterday morning. I should have posted a picture of that too so you can see how opposite my plan was from what the canvas planned for me. haha

Thanks for visiting!

Yes, Iris...it's a white chalk pencil and it washes away. It comes in very handy when working on darker backgrounds.
Thanks for the tree comment :) They're fun to do!
