Happy Monday!

I really wanted to title this post 'Cancer Sucks' but thought I'd try be a little more positive, if possible.

I've recently found out my ex father in law is dying of cancer. He's 80 years old and wasn't feeling well. After several tests, they have discovered his body is full of cancer and have given him weeks, if not days, to live. It makes me sad, even though he's not 'my' family anymore. He IS my boys' grandpa and very special to them. He's special to me.

It makes me smile to think of how he has supported my painting endeavors for the past 10 years. He's ordered painted saws from me for people and always charged them $15 MORE than I quoted him because he thought I deserved it. :) He thought more of my painting than I did at the time, I guess. That's pretty cool, considering I divorced his son. He made me feel great and so did his wife. I remember my one and only craft show! They asked to come to my house for a private showing and bought tons of stuff before the sale! ♥
My own father really doesn't say anything about what I do. He's a quiet man, maybe he likes it? Maybe he thinks it's silly. I really don't know.

Anyway, I painted this angel yesterday and I titled her 'CP' for now, only because those are his initials and I thought about him so much while painting her. This angel is for Curtis.

What a stunning painting Darla (I love her softness and beauty) You are one of my favourite artists on this Blogger.

I am very sorry to hear about Curtis (poor old darling) and I hope he is not in too much pain.

All the best, Val

She is really beautiful. Cancer does suck, I lost my mum to cancer a couple of years back - I think everyone knows someone that has died from this dreadful disease. Your art is incredible and I'm sure that even though your dad doesn't comment about it - he is proud of you.
