Art journal pages

This is in my smaller art journal, the one I mostly just sketch in. I watched J.K. Rowling being interviewed my Oprah last week and she was so awesome! She made a comment similar to this and that stuck with me and it's so true. I remember when I was pregnant with my first son, Derek. I would worry about all the 'what ifs' and the writing around her is what my mom told me.
"Why worry? 95% of what you think MIGHT happen never does and the other 5% is never as bad as you imagine"

"Take the time to play every day"
This one is just silly......Somehow I ended up with a more mature face on a little girl body. See the stripes in the background? That's my Michaels receipts. Their paper roll was getting to the end so the BRIGHT, BOLD pink stripes printed out as a warning. I just thought they'd make cool paper backgrounds :)

Speaking of Michaels.....making a trip today. I best get busy and get some things done before we leave.
Hope you are all enjoying a beautiful weekend!

Happy creating!
Darla

Your work is so full of color and inspiration. I enjoy looking at it. I am taking the upcoming art class, as well. I look forward to learning the whole layering technique. I thought it was clever using the Michaels' receipt. I went today also.

Love these Darla!! Love the eyes on the first one! This post I can so relate to.....I worry all the time and deal with fear every day it seems like! And for what?!

Thanks for sharing this today. It is inspiring to me! :)

So true...my mum used to tell me that I worried about what i was going to worry over next! Sometimes i even worried because there was nothing to worry about!! LOL! I'm much better now - perhaps that's what comes with age! Now I'm just forgetful. Perhaps that's it! I was worried but I've forgotten about it! Ha!

Loving your art! And I agree - living with fear and worry is not living at all. Hard to achieve sometimes! ♥

Great pages..... I may have to use that quote on my Fb wall tomorrow. I seem to have lived that way for a long time and the past six months I'm trying to break myself of it. Thanks for the reminder!! xo
