Bee Patient

I sketched this little girl the other night and really took my time in thinking how I'd paint her up. I got started and things were going so well until I speared black on her white translucent wing and had to change them up a bit. Then..........JUST as I was putting finishing touches on her, she got a HUGE black smudge on her face! I took the end of my paintbrush and dabbed spots on the bee's antennae and somehow my sleeve caught it before it dried, smearing them and landing on her face :( Grrrrrrrrrrr

This is the point where the heart stickers (bandaids) came into play. Since this is in my art journal, there was no way of really correcting the smudges. I tried but they got worse and the paper started to tear away.

Oh well, lesson learned. PATIENCE, Darla............patience!

Happy Ground Hog Day! I hope he gives us what we want...........EARLY SPRING!!

Hi Darla,

I love this, caught my eye straight away. As i've been all about honey for the last two plus weeks i guess the bee was mean't to be noticed. Brilliant :)

She is just precious Darla. I love her bandaids. It can be hard to be patient when you are working and don't want to stop and wait for something to dry. :) But I think it turned out wonderfully!

She's lovely Darla! I know the feeling well...I no longer wear long sleeves when painting lol! Bit like when I turned my goddess upside down so i could get at the bottom of the canvas more easily and then used a gel pen that you put pressure on the nib to get ink out, yes it ran...all up her face!
