A Spring store window

The local grocery store (yes, we have only one!) has hired me now for about 5 years to paint a little seasonal display on their front window. I finally got this done :)

I usually do 3 a year~Spring/Summer - Fall - Winter
It would be fun to do spring bunnies or a patriotic theme in the summer but we try to keep a design that can last from Spring until fall. Last year it got so cold so fast and they didn't get the fall display off before winter arrived and we had pumpkins on this window until about 3 weeks ago :)

I started out using a black paint pen to outline the leaves on the left and it kept scraping off the paint (fun part about glass painting...NOT!) I then switched over to using a black liner brush. It took much longer than I planned and now when I look at the photo, I feel the need to go back up and make the leaves on the left match the ones of the right. We really ARE our own worst critics, aren't we? Geeeez!

See that bench in front of the window? I had to step up on that, then down, then up, then down. I was SO stiff and sore last night! I think the Brazil Butt Lift workout might have been easier :)

It's very cool and windy here today and I'm really hoping the warm, spring weather returns soon!

Have a wonderful week everyone♥

Darla,
it looks GORGEOUS!!!! Is it hard for you to paint that 'big'? You know what I mean?

You did a FABULOUS job dear! I mean it - and I can not tell a difference at all between the leaves on the left and the leaves on the right! =)

You ROCK!
Love,
Lori

I think you've done a great job Darla, i wish other shop owners took such pride in their windows. We have a wool/knitting shop just up from us. I have been so tempted many a time to go up and offer to dress her window for her. It has dated lady dummies in it and just looks drab and dated. I'm sure something really eye catching would work wonders. One day i might offer my services lol

Hi Darla...It looks Fantastic!!!
Don't you love it when you get a work-out while making art :D
I am doing the art 'stairmaster'
with my ladder while I'm working on my outside wall...not seeing any results, but I sure do feel the burn.

I love your window displays Darla, my favourite one that i've seen of yours was the one with the birdies on it (I can't remember how long ago that was though) There must be some very happy shoppers seeing such pretty window displays!!

How awesome that your artwork is out there for everyone to enjoy!
Since you worked out so hard, you can now relax and have a nice cupcake.
(ok, that's an excuse I would use on myself, lol!)

How fun to paint the local store windows. We have a store here that always paints the entire bands around the windows and it really looks great. Happy painting...
