Going down memory lane :)

I was looking through some pics of older pieces from my EBAY days and I seriously miss some of the painting styles and designs I used to do. I LIKE painting whimsical girls now, but I think I might take a little break and switch things up again.

This is one of my favorite pieces I did. It's a metal desk lamp that I painted roses on and then did a mosaic base. So shabby chic huh? The lamp shade reminds me of a helmet from Hogan's Heroes but, oh well :)

This is a wooden plate I did around the holidays. Lots of magical glitter and sparkle♥

A burlap decorative pillow.

Oh, and these little guys!!! I did many of them and I couldn't believe how well they sold on Ebay. One actually sold for over $60! They were painted on vintage electrical insulators (those glass things on top of old electrical poles!)

They were such fun!

I think I need to find some inspiration and paint!

Wow Darla, these are all so wonderful. I love the lamp. I guess sometimes it is good to revisit the past to look at GREAT ideas and change it up a litle now and then.
I tend to get in to a grove and just stay for awhile.
Looking back always surprises me.
Love and hugs.

Sometimes switching things up is a good thing. I think it would be interesting how your original style changes when you try again with your newer experiences.

Darla, you are so beautiful, sorry you are feeling a little out of it. Maybe the winter as been so long and we have mulled through it best we can and really need that beautiful summer to come and rescue us. Give us some relaxing time. Sit outside enjoying an ice cooled drink and listening to the birds. Not just one day but several weeks of this.
Sending you loads of love Darla!
Your such the brightest star!

Hugs!

Julie

Hi Darla,
Oh yeah, I love the shabby lamp shade and all your pieces!

Have I read this post wrong?
Why do you miss the older style and why not go back to it?
Happy creating and Painting,

Darla, your post brought back soucj fun memories of when Onestroke was in full swing, and we all were painting anything and everything that moved!!! ... and the insulators!!!!! I still have tons of them. I fell in love with them in their natural glass states - and I use them as little lights (I'll have to email you a pic).

Love seeing some of your older stuff ... its fun to look back and see how our art has evolved ... but YOU KNOW ... you can always sit down and whip out some roses girlfriend!!!...and send it to me of course!! LOL
