Do you remember?

The excitement? The pure joy of receiving a Crayola Box of 64 (yes! SIXTY FOUR) beautiful, crisp, delicious new crayons????

It's raining here today and one of the memories of being a little girl that I will forever have is snuggling in with my fresh new crayons and a coloring book that awaited the bursts of color I had in store for it♥

Awww, the magic awaits! The possibilities endless!

I found this wonderful quote by Robert Fulghum:

Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon. A happiness weapon. A beauty bomb. And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one. It would explode high in the air - explode softly - and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth - boxes of Crayolas. And we wouldn't go cheap, either - not little boxes of eight. Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in. With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination.

What a brilliant idea, don't ya think?

Sitting at work, wishing I was at home, curled up on a couch with a tv tray, 64 colorful friends and a new book to adorn :)

Have a great weekend!
Darla

Oooh yes I remember!!! I didn't like to use them right away, because I didn't want to mess them up, and I only used silver and gold on special pictures. And they always smelled so good too :)

I don't care how old I am...I still get myself a brand new box of Crayola crayons each year. Last year it was the box of 64! YEAH!!! Happy coloring...
P.S. I love the happy parachutes.

Oh, totally remember! The smell and the nice perfect tips. You really scored if you had a box with a sharpener! I remember not wanting to use them because I didn't want to mess them up.
