Here is another mixed media angel on canvas. She's done in rich blues and greens. Lots of texture with gauze, paper and beeswax.

My art journal sketches

These are a few of my sketches in my art journal. I'm not one to write down feelings or thoughts but I doodle and it provides the same stress relief for me:)

This weekend I have my 3 grandkids over to visit while their folks are away skiing! We're getting ready to make cookies and I plan to try out my new FACE paint on them later! I'll be sure to post pics if all goes as planned.

My first time trying brown eyes!

I discovered something fabulous today!!! I can scan my designs AND print them out on watercolor paper! Woohoo! I printed this girl's face out, painted her and then put her together for this mixed media piece.

I've added a kitty!

Last night I decided to bake my son a LAYER CAKE! I thought I had cake mix, but nope! So I actually whipped up a chocolate cake from SCRATCH! I put a crumb coat layer of frosting on it last night (can you tell I watch Ace of Cakes?) and hope to finish it up today! I'll be sure to post pictures of it if it's not too embarrassing!

Here is the item I made for the Northern Lights Auction to be held Jan. 22, 2009.

The theme is 'It's a Jungle Out There'.

I didn't want to do animal prints so I took a different approach to it. It IS a jungle out there in this world, but we are never alone. We have our guardian angels with us always♥

I opened shop!

I finally took the plunge and started up an Etsy shop! I was painting and creating all this schtuff and was running out of wall space in the spare bedroom so I thought I might as well try and sell it.
I'm sooooo used to Ebay and the 7-day auction format so this is different for me. I put stuff in my shop and there it sits. I don't know if it's being seen or not. I'll have to do more research on how to promote this better.

It's wicked cold here today. -30 below. I keep telling myself to embrace winter and try focus on the positive things about living in the Red River Valley, but it's mornings like this that make it tough!
